Ike’s Love & Sandwiches hires digital marketing director – Fast Casual

Oct. 7, 2021

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, a growing sandwich brand with 80 units nationwide, has appointed Irene Chao as director of digital marketing to oversee the fast casual brand’s marketing technology stack, which was re-launched over the summer, according to a company press release.

Chao has held past marketing and corporate roles at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Robeks Fresh Juices and Smoothies, and most recently, Veggie Grill, where she managed the loyalty program, CRM and off-premise marketing as director of digital marketing.

“With our plans to grow rapidly over the next year in new and existing markets, Irene is the perfect addition to the team to prepare Ike’s marketing technology stack for expansion,” Renae Scott, CMO of Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, said in the release. “Our brand-new app is debuting with even more features in the coming months, and we’re excited to have a seasoned digital marketing lead to execute that.”

Ike’s has more than 800 original sandwiches on the menu, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free styles.

“I’m so excited to be part of Ike’s growing digital landscape,” Chao said. “Their new app and website make it easier for and more fun for guests to order their favorite sandwich for pickup or delivery, earn rewards and connect with the brand. I plan on making strategic contributions to fully leverage the digital platforms.”

The corporate team operates 80 Ike’s Love & Sandwiches locations mainly in the west. Ike’s Love & Sandwiches was ranked No. 12 on Fast Casual’s Movers and Shakers 2021 list. Ike’s recently overhauled its marketing technology stack, including an upgraded loyalty program, a new website and easier online ordering.

Formed in San Francisco in 2007, Ike’s has locations across California, Nevada, Arizona and Texas.
